The Riatta Alpaca Herd

Our breeding program has seen a substantial improvement over the time we have been involved with our alpaca. Our foundation herd was primarily whites, over time we have changed our focus to breeding colour, retaining a number of the white foundation herd with colour in their background to improve the fleece traits in the progeny produced through breeding colour studs to these white dams. Our annual fleece statistics have improved year on year and we are starting to see the changes in the physique of the offspring which we are breeding for.
