Our Lady Alpaca

Breeding female alpacas, known as dams, are the cornerstone of any successful alpaca herd. They are incredible mothers who will take excellent care of their crias. At Riatta Alpaca, we breed our female alpacas during the spring and autumn. We make sure they are at least two years of age before breeding them to give them time to mature. Our female alpacas are an integral part of our farm, and we take great care to ensure they are healthy and happy.

We take great pride in our animals and our breeding program. As a breeder for colour and patterns, our females come in a variety of colours. Some of our ladies are just beginning their breeding careers with us and others are of retirement age. We currently have available retired non breeding females suitable as herd guardians for sheep, chickens or other smaller livestock, as well as paddock companions.
