Riatta Alpacas & Ingwe Alpacas
Yarra Valley, Victoria Australia
2024 Additions to the Herd
Our prime focus for the 2024 cria births has been to progress our development of the Ingwe Herd, a joint collaboration between Omaru Alpacas and ourselves Riatta Alpacas to producing a number of different patterned genetic lines. To this end we have a small number of the following patterns we are working on - Appaloosa lineages including Classic Appaloosa, Leopard Appaloosa, Harlequin Appaloosa and a Speckled/Spotted Pinto line.
For many Australian breeders 2024 has been a year dominated with male cria being born. Now that does have its benefits for small breeders like ourselves - it gives us a broader selection of males to make our selection on which ones to run through for another year for stud selection and also provides us with stock to sell on as potential studs/pets/herdguards/livestyle block companions and paddock lawnmowers.
We will shortly have some youngsters for sale, they are currently being halter trained and will be looking for new homes after shearing in December. Our pricing is very affordable and we can arrange package deals. We will not sell an alpaca on its own so please do not ask. Likewise we only sell same gender pairs or groups of alpaca.
Alpaca are always fascinated with newborn as can be seen by our weanlings investigating a new arrival in the next paddock. Between the ages of 4 - 6 months our cria are weaned from their mums and begin their halter training preparation for their new homes. At Riatta we are happy to work with you on getting to know your alpaca and how to look after your alpaca's husbandry needs. We offer support to all our buyers to ensure that the alpaca welfare needs are taken care of.
